The digital transformation of our economy and society is one of the key priorities for the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. Its “Digital Strategy 2025” puts forward an ambitious roadmap for broadband investment, the modernization of the telecommunications regulatory framework, pushing forward industry 4.0 and digitizing SMEs. State Secretary Zypries will present the Strategy.

Since the beginning of 2013 Nicolas Zimmer is CEO of Technologiestiftung Berlin, a non-for-profit foundation and think-tank, supporting science and technology and pursuing political agenda-setting for technology-driven subjects in Berlin.
He was a member of the Berlin State Assembly from 1998 to 2011. After 2006 until 2011 he was spokesperson in the committee for science and research of the Berlin State Assembly. 2011 to 2012 he was permanent secretary for economics, technology and research in Berlin.

A great deal of Mr. Zimmer´s interest and strength lies in coding and entrepreneurship, he founded his own startup in 2013.
